Piha House
The brief of this project was simple. A contemporary timber framed home to retire in, while the kids can still come and stay. The project was designed in such a way that the owner could enjoy unobstructed views out to Lion Rock. The Kitchen, Dining and Living areas were purposely kept open plan to look out to the expansive views. A sunken lounge was provided as contemporary nod to the iconic 1970s architecture the home took its inspiration from. A covered deck area can open up to leave a roofed link between the main dwelling and the bunk room and entirely separate studio for guests.
